November 27-- Sean Taylor Dies

After a night where his family and friends discussed "positive signs" and a "Ray of hope" after Sean Taylor responded to some simple directions from a doctor in Miami, the Redskins safety passed away early this morning from complications resulting from a single gun shot wound that severed a main artery in his leg..

We'll have more as the morning progresses...

One of the most popular Skins, he gave us hope for the future and a reason to tune in on Sundays. He was going to be the greatest safety in Redskins history. God bless you and your family Sean Taylor, and thank you for the memories.

This is terrible knews after word that he was responsive. I'm a life-long Redskins fan and Sean Taylor was the most exciting player to watch. He made plays all over the field, and god help anyone coming over the middle. I will never forget this man as long as I live, and yes me, a grown man shed a tear today upon waking and hearing this news. God bless his family, the Redskins, and god help any Cowboys fan who talks down about Sean Taylor-there will be repurcussions.

It is so sad. Someone commented on the Washington Post site that Heaven got a little more bad ass today and I couldn't agree more

Bram, I appreciate all you guys for keeping us informed. It is not an easy situation for anyone to handle. Mr. Taylor was and continues to be my favorite professional athlete. I am a Redskins fan by birth and will be sure to contribute to the legend he will become. No. 21, for me, will be attributable to one player.

I went to sleep with hope after hearing of the response post surgery. I reassured my son who serves in the Army across the Pacific Ocean that Sean would pull through. But alas my son and I cried on the phone this morning at learning the news of his passing. I'm wearing his jersey today at work to honor him and the great athlete and man that he had become. I'm so angry at thie animal that took his life, but I know Sean was in a right place with God and will honor him by not dwelling on that. I implore this Redskin team to go for the rest of this season with everything they have within them and more to win it all for Sean. No one ever deserved it more. GO SKINS -- DO IT FOR SEAN!!!
