November 23-- Marty Talks, Gibbs has Thanks

Injuries: LB LaVar Arrington was held out of the Wednesday practice with a thigh injury, he is listed as probable for the SD game.. T Chris Samuels is resting his sore knee, he was out of practice as well and is probable, DT Cornelious Griffin was out on the practice field Wednesday, a change considering the past few he has spent practice mainly in the trianing room, but he did not take part in the team portions and remains questionable with a hip flexor.. S Sean Taylor (ankle), S Ryan Clark (ankle) both missed the Wednesday practice and are both probable..
DT Joe Salave'a (foot) probable..
RB Ladell Betts was out of practice, running on the side with a trainer, he is questionable (sprained knee)
H Back mike Sellars (ribs) and WR James Thrash (hamstring) are both out for the SD game..

The Redskins signed WR/KR Antonio Brown who they cut after week oen when he fumbled the second half kick off in the Bears game.. He will likely return kicks this week and could be used in 3 and 4 wide sets this weekend.. Joe Gibbs says Sean Taylor will not be used on offense more despite the injuries.. The hope is that the RB's will be utilized more though in the passing game..
The Skins released OL Lennie Friedman to make room on the roster..
The team also inked WR Carl Kearney to the practice squad..

Marty Schottenheimer says he doesn't have a ton of emotion in returning to Washington for the first time since leaving after his lone season in 2001.. He says Dan Snyder certainly has the will to win, that the two have a good relationship and that this is just another game.. He did talk about the 2001 season, one in which t=his team started 0-5.. Cory raymer said the team had to stop acting like 3rd graders and once they did, the seaosn got turned around.. Jon Jansen said there were many veterans who didn't want to work under the guiudlines Marty set, once the two sides met on common ground, things turned for the better..Marty said he hasn';t adjusted his style much since the Skins experience telling a story of how he learned that you must adjust or you will die, but that there are principals you have to stick to or you will lose credibility..

Joe Gibbs birthday is on Friday, he told a story of how he used to go to a place to get a biscuit and got mad when the woman at the counter asked if he wanted a senior discount.. He says he is thankful for his job, what he has achieved in life, being able to do what he does.. He obviosuly is looking for a win..

Gibbs is not down on Taylor Jacobs despite his season stats of 5 catches 50 yards saying he studies and works as hard as anyone on the team, saying he has a world of talent, Gibbs is hoping Jacobs seizes the opportunity given to him.. WR Jimmy Farris says he was sleeping when Gibbs called him, but lied and sounded as if he was awake and told him he was working out.. Farris maintains he has kept himself in good shape and even told his agent to try to stay in touch with Washington because he wanted another shot here before becoming the new guy someone else.. He says he had been in touch with the coaches for weeks leading into this second chance..
